Licensed Mental Health Counselor
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with ten years’ experience in the mental health field. I obtained my master’s in counseling psychology from Chaminade University and my doctorate degree in Psychology with a Health Psychology specialization at National University.
My primary focus has been working with children, families and adults, particularly in the areas of trauma, adjustment disorders, generalized anxiety, health anxiety, depression, and caregiver burnout. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, as well as an insight-oriented approach to help address the root causes of her client’s difficulties and build meaningful social connections.
For younger children (5-11), I use play therapy and highly encourage parent involvement during the treatment process. I believe in the mind-body connection, and I focus on building resilience and incorporating mindfulness/stress management in day-to-day living.
In my spare time, I enjoy crocheting, relaxing with my two cats and spending time with my family.
