Nature of Services & Credentials

Sakura Center provides comprehensive psychological assessment, psychotherapy, and behavioral support services. Our clinical team consists of licensed clinical psychologists, psychological associates, licensed master’s-level clinicians (including LMHCs, LCSWs, and LMFTs), provisionally licensed clinicians, and Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs).

Doctoral Program 

We are an official training site for the Hawaii School of Professional Psychology. As part of our commitment to clinical excellence, we host doctoral-level practicum students who provide assessment services under the direct, intensive supervision of our licensed clinical psychologists. By seeking services at our center, you may be seen by a doctoral student. All clinical decisions, diagnostic impressions, and psychological reports are reviewed, edited, and co-signed by a licensed supervisor to ensure the highest standard of care.

Fee Schedule:

Service Rates:

Comprehensive Psychological/Neuropsychological Assessment

• $250 per hour. This includes 1 hour for the diagnostic intake, 4 to 8 hours of testing, 8-10 hours for scoring and report writing, and a 1-hour review meeting. 
  • Total cost ranges from $3,500 to $5,000.
• If using insurance, you will be responsible for all co-pays and/or co-insurance as related to your specific insurance plan.
• Fees for partial evaluations can be discussed during the intake session.

Additional Services:

• School Observations/Consultation: $250 per 60-minute session, plus travel time (see rates below).

Miscellaneous Fees:

• Reports are provided electronically. Printed copies are available upon request, with the first copy free and additional copies at $0.25 per page.
• Travel Fees for School Visits:
  • Up to 15 minutes: $50
  • 16-30 minutes: $100
  • 31-60 minutes: $200

Coverage varies by provider, so please verify your benefits. Consider asking:

• Does my plan include mental health benefits?
• What is my deductible, and have I met it?
• How many therapy sessions are covered annually?
• Is prior approval from my primary care physician required?
• Are out-of-network benefits available for mental health services?
• Does my plan cover psychological/neuropsychological testing, and how many hours are included?

Payment Information:

We accept cash, checks, and all major credit cards. Payment is due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. For assessments, half of the estimated cost is due on the testing day, with the remainder due after insurance processing or at the feedback session if not using insurance.

Cancellation Policy & No-Show Policy:

• Notice Requirements: We require 24 hours' notice for the cancellation of therapy sessions and 48 hours' notice for the cancellation of assessment appointments.
• Cancellation Fees: Failure to provide the required notice, or failing to attend a scheduled appointment without communication (a "no-show"), will result in a fee of $100 per service hour charged to the credit card on file.
• Medicare/Medicaid Exception: If you are a beneficiary of Medicare or Medicaid, federal and state regulations prohibit our practice from charging fees for missed or canceled appointments. We kindly ask that you provide as much notice as possible so that we may offer your time to another client.

Additional Information

• Insurance Billing: We are contracted with various insurance providers. As a professional courtesy, we will bill your insurance provider directly. However, you are responsible for understanding your plan’s benefits, including applicable deductibles, co-pays, and authorization requirements. Should your insurance deny a claim or fail to cover a service, you remain responsible for the full balance.
• Cash Pay (Self-Pay): Clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to utilize their benefits are considered "Cash Pay" clients. In these instances, payment in full is required at the time of service.
• Assessment Services: Psychological and neuropsychological assessments often require specific prior authorization from insurance carriers. If your insurance plan does not cover the full duration of an assessment, you are responsible for the remaining balance at the agreed-upon hourly rate.
• Out-of-Network: If we are not paneled with your specific insurance plan, we can provide a "Superbill" for you to submit to your provider for potential reimbursement. We cannot guarantee that your insurance will reimburse you for these services.

If your insurance doesn't cover our services or we aren't in-network, we offer cash pay options. Out-of-network benefits might be available for reimbursement. Ultimately, you're responsible for service charges.

We understand that the cost of psychological assessments and therapy can sometimes be a barrier to getting the care you need. Through the Inheris Mental Health Fund, individuals and families may qualify for charitable funding to help cover the cost of services, including psychological evaluations, therapy, copays, and deductibles.
